PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): The power transmission line from Uzbekistan to Kabulinfo-icon has once again snapped as a result of a clash in Doshi district of northern Baghlan province, plunging seven provinces into darkness, an official said Monday.

Da Afghanistaninfo-icon Breshna Shirkat Director for Baghlan Sultan Ahmad Aziz told Pajhwok Afghan News the cables were cut loose as Talibaninfo-icon militants and security forces clashed in the area on Sunday night.

“Our technical team is ready to go to the area with police permission to fix the transmission line”, Azizi said.

Meanwhile, a DABS worker, who declined to be named, said another transmission cable had also been cut off in Khanjan district. However, he did not provide details.

DABS headquarters in Kabul confirmed the transmission line from Uzbekistan had been cut off in two areas, suspending electricity supply to Kabul, Parwan, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Logar and Paktia provinces.

A technical team has been dispatched to the area to repair the transmission line as early as possible.
