Visa policy for Afghans remains unchanged: Pakistan

Visa policy for Afghans remains unchanged: Pakistan

Jan 10, 2019 - 11:51

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon’s visa policy for Afghan citizens remains unchanged, says the Foreign Office spokesperson.

“Pakistan’s missions in Afghanistaninfo-icon issue around 3,800 visas a day to Afghans -- more than any other country.” Dr Muhammad Faisal tweeted on Wednesday

He said the visas were issued free of cost. Around 1.39 million registered Afghan refugees are currently living in Pakistan.

A week ago, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director Immigration Asmatullah Junejo had said the Afghans were no longer offered visas on arrival.

“All Afghan nationals who want to visit Pakistan will have to obtain a visa from Pakistani consulates in their country,” he said.

Currently, Pakistan offers the visa-on-arrival facility to citizens of 24 countries, including China, Malaysia and the United States.
