MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): A Talibaninfo-icon judge has reconciled with the government in Tagab district of central Kapisa province, local officials said on Friday.

Tagab district police chief Mohammad Naeem Safi told Pajhwok Mualvi Azizur Rahman Safi, an active Taliban judge, surrendered to security forces along with two of his guards on Friday morning.

He said the three, who have been shifted to the provincial capital, Mahmood Raqi, were in contact with other insurgents to persuade them to reconcile.

The police official said security forces had made advances in Tagab district and had recaptured several villages from the insurgents.
