Bajwa, Votel exchange views on Afghan peace process

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Senior US and Pakistani military leaders have exchanged views on the ongoing peace and reconciliation process Afghanistaninfo-icon.

A delegation led by CENTCOM Commander Gen. Joseph Votel called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen, Qamar Javed Bajwa in Islamabad on Sunday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a statement, the army’s media wing said the geo-strategic environmentinfo-icon, regional security and Afghanistan reconciliation were discussed during the meeting.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistaninfo-icon Army’s efforts for regional peace and stability, the statement added.

Gen. Bajwa reiterated peace in Afghanistan was vital to regional stability. He claimed Pakistan, despite constraints, had contributed to efforts for regional peace and would continue to do so.
