KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Pakistani Consulate in northern Balkh province was closed on Sunday after a woman tried to bring in a hand grenade to the consulate in her personal bag, the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul said.

The woman was arrested by police and she is under investigation, the statement said.

The Pakistani Embassy in Kabul urged the Afghan Foreign Ministry to provide foolproof security to its Consulate General in Mazar-i-Sharif and share finding of its investigation with the mission at the earliest.

The Pakistaninfo-icon Consulate General in Mazar-i-Sharif will remain closed for visa service until it was provided fool-proof security to prevent any untoward incident.
