JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Civil societyinfo-icon activists and culturists in eastern Nangarhar and Kunar provinces on Sunday offered funeral prayers in absentia for a slain Pashtuninfo-icon Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) senior member, Arman Luni.

According to reports, Luni was alleged killed during a police crackdown on Saturday in Loralai district of Balochistan province during a sit-in.

Senior PTM Leader and Member of the Parliament Dawar tweeted: “Extremely tragic news, senior member of PTM Arman Luni has been killed by police in a crackdown at #PTMLoralaiSitIn This is the worst shape of state terrorism We request our members to keep calm and remain non violent. State will have to pay for his murder.”

Luni’s funeral was held and his body buried at his ancestral village, but some civil society activists and culturists offered his funeral in absentia in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar.

The funeral was held near the Bacha Khan’s tomb and the participants chanted slogans in favour of PTM and the non-violence philosophy Bacha Khan.

Civil society activist Asadullah Khan believed the killing of PTM members would further strengthen their struggle in Pakistaninfo-icon and infuse a new spirit in the movement.

Sharifullah Naseri, another activist, demanded fair investigation into the killing of Arman Luni.

He asked the Afghan government to raise its voice for PTM rights on international forums.
