KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghanistaninfo-icon Cricket Board (ACB) on Thursday announced national squads for three T20 Internationals and five ODIs preceding a tour-ending Test against Ireland in India.

The matches hosted by Afghanistan at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun Uttarakhand will commence from February 21 until March 19.

Addressing a press conference in Kabul, ACB chief selector Dawlat Ahmadzai said all the players had been picked based on their talent and performance.

ODI Squad:

Asghar Afghan (Captain), Mohammad Shahzad Mohammadi, Javed Ahmadi, Hazratullah Zazai, Noor Ali Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Sami Shinwari, Hashmatullah Shaheedi, Akram Alikhel, NajibZadran, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Karim Janat, Gulbaddin Naib, Aftab Alam, Dawlat Zadran, Shapoor Zadran, Fareed Malik, Sayed Sherzad, Mujeeb Zadran and Zahir Khan.

T20 Squad:

Asghar Stanikzai (captain), Mohammad Shahzad Mohammadi, Ihsan Janat, Javed Ahmadi, Rahmat Shah, Nasir Jamal, Hashmatullah Shaheedi, Akram Alikhel, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Wafadar, Yameen Ahmadzai, Sharafuddin Ashraf and Waqar Salamkhel.

Test Squad:

Asghar Stanikzai (captain), Mohammad Shahzad Mohammadi, Ihsan Janat, Javed Ahmadi, Rahmat Shah, Nasir Jamal, Hashmatullah Shaheedi, Akram Alikhel, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Wafadar, YameenAhmadzai, Sharafuddin Ashraf and Waqar Salamkhel.

Ahmadzai said mostly young players were given chance in the matches against Ireland to chose players for the 2019 Worldinfo-icon Cup from among these squads.

He also unveiled the under-19 national team and said some players had exceeded their age while others dropped due to bad performance.

He said it had been decided that the under 19 team would be picked on merit after trials in different parts of the county.

He said Riyaz Hassan, Sabir Sharif, Obaid Mohammadi, Sidiqullah Atal, Farhan Zakhel, Arif Khan Dawlatzai, Bashir Khan Sher, Mohammad Hassan Khan, Islam Zazai, Abdullah Baeb, Ihsan Mandozai, Rizwanullah Murid, Abdullah Arman, Aziz Khan, Obaid Khostai, Jamshid, Shafiqullah Jafari, Noor Ahmad, Navid Ahmad, Zuhaib, Ishaq Zazai and Mohammad Ishaq were the players who found their place in the U-19 list.
