Abdullah, Khalilzad discuss ongoing peace efforts

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah has said there was no top priority than the establishment of peace and stability in country and to end the forty-year-old war, according to a statement from the CEO office on Sunday.

CEO Abdullah expressed the view during a meeting with US Special Envoy for Afghan Peace Process Zalmay Khalilzad at his residence.

Abdullah hailed the efforts of Khalilzad and US government for reconciliation efforts in the war-ravaged country and added the establishment of peace and reconciliation was the main desire of the people of Afghanistaninfo-icon.

He stressed on the Afghan owned, dignified and sustainable peace and reconciliation.

The US peace envoy would meet Pakistaninfo-icon official this week to discuss efforts for Afghan peace and reconciliation.
