‘India’s military action against Pakistan may hamper Afghan peace talks’

Feb 19, 2019 - 19:07

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon’s Ambassador to Afghanistaninfo-icon Zahid Nasrullah Khan on Tuesday said that Afghan peace talks may suffer setback if India resorted to military action against Pakistan in post-Pulwama suicide attack scenario.

He asked Indian government to share credible evidence regarding the involvement of elements from Pakistan in the recent suicide attack on its troops in Kashmir.

The envoy also warned India of befitting response if New Delhi resorted to military option in the wake of recent attack on its soldiers.

Addressing reporters here, the envoy accused India of leveling false accusations against Pakistan when there are violent incidents in the Indian administered Kashmir.

A couple of days back a suicide attack in the Pulwama district left 40 Indian soldiers killed and some injured, while three more Indian soldiers were killed on the following day in a shootout with armed men in the same district.

He added if India has evidence regarding the involvement of Pakistan in the attack it should share it with the Islamabad for investigation.

Kashmir remains a disputed territory between Pakistan and Indian since the inception of Pakistan in 1947.

Both nations claim Kashmir as their integral parts and fought three wars so far.
