KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Eight men allegedly involved in kidnappings for ransom have been detained by intelligence forces in two separate operations in Kabul city, the spy service said on Tuesday.

The National Directorate of Security in a statement said the suspects were arrested from the fifth and 12th security districts of Kabul by the special forces during operations.

It said the detainees included a group of kidnappers led by Mohammad Yar, who had kidnapped a 10-year-old boy, Wasimullah, from Kabul city’s 12th police district and later killed him.

In connection with the case, Mohammad Yar, Rahat Gul aka Farhad Laghmani, Sifatullah, Ahmadullah and Syed Hussain had been arrested and they had confessed to their crime, the statement added.

In a separate raid, the NDSinfo-icon forces arrested two men – Habibullah and Ahmad Zia --- from the 5th police district of Kabul for kidnapping Ahmad Gul, an official of the Shahzada Money market of Kabul.

The two kidnappers were arrested when they wanted to shift Ahmad Gul to Jabalus Saraj district of central Parwan province. Gul was reunited with his family before the ransom money was paid to the kidnappers.

No timing and date of the operations were mentioned in the statement.
