KABULinfo-icon: (Pajhwok): Some residents of Kabul complain of the growing number of stray dogs on streets and roads, saying they cannot go out of home early in the morning or late in the evening.

Haji Ghulam Nabi, a resident of 11th police district, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “A stray dog recently attacked me on my way to the mosqueinfo-icon at dawn. Since then I haven’t dared go to the mosque.”

“If I am not wrong, the number of pye dogs in the Kherkhana locality of Kabul matches the number of residents,” he remarked, asking municipal authorities to address the problem with a sense of urgency.

Najibullah, who lives in the 8th police district, recalled his wife’s healthinfo-icon deteriorated few days back. “I took her to the doctor. But on our way, we encountered several mongrels. I had to leave my wife alone, going after the canines.”

He urged the municipality to take appropriate action to clear capital streets of the bitzers, which have created fear among Kabulites.

Shamsur Rahman Frotan, a religious scholar, said all species had been created for the benefit of humanity. But if stray dogs become a nuisance for people, they could be eliminated, according to him.
