Taliban release 58 ANA soldiers in Badghis

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Talibaninfo-icon have released 58 Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers in western Badghis province.

The soldiers had been captured by militants as a result of clashes in Bala Marghab district a few days back.

Earlier, dozens of other soldiers were deported to Afghanistaninfo-icon after they fled to neighbouring Turkmenistan.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed the release of 58 soldiers, saying thry had been sent to their homes safely.

In a statement, the militant group’s spokesman said the soldiers had promised quitting ANA ranks. Based on their promise, he said, the military personnel were freed.
