Mahmood Ahmadzai, one of the participants of the meeting, said the current system based on democratic principles should not be sacrificed in the US-Taliban negotiations.

He said achievements over the past 18 years had been made at the cost of blood of Afghan soldiers, children, men and womeninfo-icon. The gains should not be sacrificed in the garb of a US-Taliban deal, he insisted.

Dr. Shah Wali Sharifi, another participant of the gathering, underlined the need for organising similar events at the current critical time.
