Plots’ distribution to martyred forces families in 2 weeks: Official

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): The distribution of land plots to the families of martyred security forces would begin soon in eastern Laghman province, an official said on Thursday.

Around 1,000 families have already submitted the required amount to get their plots in the Farmankhelo Township in Qarghayio district.  The township has 1872 plots.

Each family deposited 50,500 afghanis six years back and knocked at the doors of several government departments to get their plots, but failed.

Pajhwok Afghan News on March 4 published a report highlighting the negligence of government officials regarding the delay in distribution of the plots.

However, officials in Laghman acknowledged problems in distribution of plots had been resolved and the process of plot distribution would be launched soon.

Governor’s spokesman Asadullah Dawlatzai,  after Pajhwok report, the governor summoned officials of the Qarghayio district, urban development officials and municipality officials and direct them to start the plots’ distribution.

He said issues and hurdles in the residential scheme had been resolved and the process of plot distribution would be launched in the coming two weeks.

Qarghayio district chief Naseer Ahmad Hemmat also the Farmankhelo Township issue had been settled and a technical team had reached there to ensure effectiveness of the affairs.
