GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Nine Talibaninfo-icon have been killed and 10 captive persons released from their jail in southern Ghazni province during Special Forces raid, but the Taliban rejected the claim, an official said on Monday.

Governor spokesman Mohammad Arif Noori told Pajhwok Afghan News security forces conducted raid on Sunday night in the Lalize, Fathullah and Wali Kala areas of Qarabagh district.

During the raid security forces stormed the Taliban prison and freed 10 prisoners. Five Taliban were also arrested.

According to Noori, security forces and civilians suffered no casualties during the raid.

Niamatullah, the resident of locality, acknowledged the overnight raid and added one person was killed and one was arrested by security forces.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid rejected the claim and added security forces a prayer leader and two civilians were killed during the raid.
