HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Some members of Provincial Council of western Herat province on Tuesday accused the council’s head over illegal activities and interference in government affairs.

PC members, Najibullah Muhbi, Dr. Noor Ahmad Haidari, Abdul Rahman Muradi and Sardar Bahadari have accused in a press conference their chairman, Kamran Alizaee over illegally stopping traders’ vehicles on highways by his bodyguards.

They have blamed Alizaee over interfering in government affairs, misusing his authority and abandoning provincial council meetings.

Dr. Noor Ahmad Haidari, a PC member, told the press conference the Kamran Alizaee’s bullying was obvious to everyone.

He said, “Provincial Council is a good example of good governance, the main purpose of the council is to fight against corruption and monitor such cases.”

He has expressed his concern over what he said Alizaee’s biased attitude towards’ other PC members and his interference in government institutions.

Haidari asked President Ashraf Ghani and Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) to address their issues and hear their voice in this is regard.

Sardar Bahadari, another PC member, also accused Alizaee for what he said violating the constitution and not consulting with other members of the council on some decisions.

He said, “I am a member of the High Reconciliation Committee but from the past one year, Alizaee did not discuss any important issue with us and he along with his brothers, families members and bodyguards arbitrarily stops cars on roads,”

Bahadari did not explain for what reason Alizaee was stopping vehicles on public roads.

However, Kamran Alizaee rejected all the allegations against him and said some members of the council were always absent at the council.

He accused the council members who complained against him, over not pay tax, smuggling goods into the country and said that he tried to stop their illegal activites.

Alizaee said he had evidences some of the provincial council members were importing vehicles and goods without paying tax.
