Security, eradication of corruption top priority: Niyazi

SHARAN (Pajhwok): New police chief of southeastern Paktika province says fight against corruption, ghost policemen and restoration of peace and stability will be his working priorities.

Col. Emal Niyazi made the commitment while addressing a gathering for his introduction as new police chief.

He said he would refer individuals involved in ghost police and terrorism to judiciary, adding that he was committed in this regard.

Deputy Governor Sher Badsha Urgoni assured the support of provincial government to new police chief in fight against terrorism and bring security to the province.

Security situation in Paktika was good compared to other provinces despite being a province on the border, he said adding, security and civilian official paid special attention to the security of Paktiak.

It is worth mentioning that earlier, Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Liwani served as police chief who was accused of corruption and stealing.
