Gold prices up, daily commodities rates remain stable in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The prices of gold have increased while that of other essential items remain stable during the outgoing week in capital Kabul, market sources said Saturday.

Haji Fawad Ahmad Salehzada, a jeweler in Timor Shahee area of Kabul, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of one gram of Arabian gold was increased from 2,600 Afghanis to 2,650 Afghanis and the same quantity of Russian variety from 2,050afs to 2,100afs.

He said gold prices were increased in international markets.

The rates of essential items remain unchanged.

Mohammad Hamayon, head of Kabul Food Traders Union, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of 49 kilograms of Pakistani sugar was 1,940afs, 49 kilograms of Kazakhstani flour 1,440afs and 24kg of Pakistani rice form 2,200afs.

He said that a tin of 16 liters of Khurshid ghee cost 1,120afs, a kilogram of Indonesian green tea 280afs and the same quantity of African black tea 300afs.

Ahmad Samim, who owns a grocery store in Taimani area of Kabul, sold a 50-kg sack of Kazakhstani flour for 1,480afs, a 49-kg bag of sugar for 2,000afs, 24-kg of Pakistani rice 2,500afs a 16-litre tin of ghee for 1,150afs, one-kg of Indonesian green tea for 300afs and the same amount of black African tea for 350afs—higher than wholesale rates.

Fuel rates also remain unchanged.

Abdul Hadi, a worker at Wazirabad Fuel Station in Kabul, said that a liter of petrol cost 52afs and the same quantity of diesel 49afs, no changes have recorded in fuel rates.

Ahmad Javid, a liquefied gas seller in Taimani area, said the price of one kilogram of the commodity was 70afs.

Haji Mir HussianSadaqat, a moneychanger at the Money Exchange Service in Sara-i-Shahzada, said one US dollar was accounted for 79.10afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 536afs against last week’s 79.10afs and 544afs.
