KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The primary court of internal and externalinfo-icon crimes has sentenced the murderers of six-year-old girl Mahsa to 30 years in jail each.

Prosecutor Karwan Jamal opened the case with his arguments against the culprits and said according to evidence and confessions of the accused, it had become clear that Sajad Agha and Rohullah kidnapped and murdered little Mahsa.

He added the murderers were eligible to punishment based of the direct appeal of Mahsa parents, in which the two men had been accused of killing her and the voice record of the two in which they demanded $300,000 against return for releasing the little girl.

Rohullah Ekhlas, defence lawyer of the accused, said Sajad Agha and Rohullah had been tortured by police to extract confession. He added Rohullah was not present at the time Mahsa murder.

He said the age of the accused was below 20 years and according to the criminal penal code, individuals under 20 years of age could not be sentenced to death.

He said the accused regretted what they had done and demanded concession in their jail terms.

However, the prosecutor in response to the defence lawyer’s remarks said initially there was no mention of police torture and alleged his counterpart wanted to drag the case somewhere else.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Abdul Waris Ihsanpur sentenced Sajad Agha son of Syed Agha and Rohullah son of Noorullah to 30 years in jail each in for kidnapping and killing of Mahsa. The punishment is implacable from the day they had been captured.

Mahsa’s father termed the court decision as unjust and demanded the perpetrators to be hanged so that it could become a lesson for others and help eradicate the crime of kidnapping and murder.

He stressed “we don’t want any punishment except execution of the two murderers.”
