KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Brimming with self-confidence, spin wizard Rashid Khan hopes he will contribute to Afghanistaninfo-icon’s ICC worldinfo-icon Cup campaign.

“To be the best, you need to believe in your skills. How we played in the Asia Cup was different and we showed that we can beat any side,” he says.

In an interview with AFP, the Nangarhar-born cricketer underlined the need for belief in personal skills and staying calm in big matches.

The number one Twenty20 bowler in the world, he has risen to third position in the ODI rankings. He has played in India, Australia and England.

Afghanistan’s coach Phil Simmons also praises his capability as a wicket-taking bowler. “Rashid... has got the mind of a 30-year-old. He knows exactly what is expected of him.”

Ex-skipper Asghar Afghan also called the 20 years old as his crucial bowler. “Rashid is our main bowler and he will be an asset in the World Cup, a true game changer and he knows his responsibilities.”
