ZARANJ (Pajhwok): At least 111 displaced and poor families have received food assistance from donor agencies in northwestern Nimorz province, an official said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Salim Qazikhel, director of migrationinfo-icon and repatriation, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 111 families were given aid through a transparent process.

Provided by Worldinfo-icon Food Programme (WFP), the aid packages contained five litres of cooking oil, seven kilograms of pulse, 1.5kg of protein-rich food and five kilograms salt.

Each family was given three blankets, two tents and a gas cylinder by the United Nations and 20 types of kitchen tools by another donor organisation.

Mohammad Nazir, one of the aid recipients, said they had left everything at their original residence. He thanked the donors for the assistance.
