KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Attorney General Office (AGO) on Sunday issues arrest warrants for Karamuddin Karim, former Afghanistaninfo-icon Football Federation head, an official said on Sunday.

Jamshid Rasooli, the AGO spokesman, told reporters the decision was made after a statement from FIFA that banned Karim from the sportinfo-icon for life for sexually abusing female players.

Karim, also a former FIFA Standing Committee member, was accused by at least five female footballers of repeated sexual abuse between 2013 and 2018. He was also fined 1,000,000 Swiss francs ($1.01m).

In November, President Ashraf Ghani ordered an investigation after Britain's Guardian newspaper reported that senior figures linked to the Afghan womeninfo-icon team alleged that some players had been molested by officials from the federation.

In December, the Attorney General's Office announced a list including the Afghanistan Football Federation members who were suspended and banned from travelling.

Karim, Nader Alemi, head of goalkeepers committee, Syed Ali Reza Aqazada, secretary general of the federation, Abdul Saboor Walizada, head of provincial relations, Rustam, an employee of AFF were among the accused.
