KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Attorney General Office (AGO) has reiterated its commitment to address all cases that rely on documents and evidence and that could lead to the prosecution of offenders, violators, ensuring justice and peace in the community, according to a statement on Monday.

The AGO statement referred to recent charges leveled by individuals against other individuals and institutions through main stream media and social media.

Claiming such allegations, without presenting documents and false rumors, would not only solve the problem but would also cause confusing public opinion.

The AGO wanted all those who raised such claims to provide evidence for proving their claim in the presence of the media, civil societyinfo-icon organizations (CSOs) and advocates.

The Office based on Article 134 of “Afghanistaninfo-icon Constitution” which is crime investigation and filing the lawsuit against the accused in courts, will examine the allegation decisively.

Spreading of baseless gossip rumors that violate the rights of individuals and institutions and disrupt the order of society, according to the Provisions of Law of Afghanistan, it is a crime.

The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) pledged that, with the utmost integrity and impartiality, which is the core principle of the AGO, the documents and evidence that reach to the office will be carefully reviewed and the results will be shared with the public.

The AGO of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, with its serious and independent performances over the past few years, had shown to be a protector of the rights and freedoms of citizens and hears all cases in the light of the Provisions of the Law in an equal, fair and precise manner.
