53 sub-health centers being set up in Kandahar, Helmand

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Fifty-three sub-healthinfo-icon centers would be set up at a cost of $3.9 million in southern Kandahar and Helmand provinces, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said in a statement on Tuesday.

The MoPH statement received by Pajhwok Afghan News said an agreement in this regard was signed between Public Health Minister Firozuddin Firoz, Bu Ali Rehabilitation and Aid Network (BARAN) head Sayed Hussian Hashimi and Bark organization head Ihsanullah Bawar.

According to the agreement, 23 sub-health clinks would be constructed in Kandahar by Baran and another 30 in Helmand province by Bark organization.

It added the facilities would benefit around 180,000 people in Kandahar and 130,000 in Helmand province.

The centers would receive different types of patients for treatment and would be equipped with medical materials besides providing training to staff to increase their capability.

The statement said the costs would be provided by MoPH.

Public Health Minister Dr.Firozuddin Firoz while signing the agreement said that the people of Afghanistaninfo-icon particularly those living in remote and deprived areas have the right to have access to healthcare services.

He said his ministry would not hesitate from providing any kind of service to people.
