KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistaninfo-icon Breshna Shirkat (DABS) and Attorney General Office (AGO) have inked a memorandum of understanding on prosecuting power thieves and those damaging electrical facilities.

A statement from the power utility said Deputy Attorney General Habib Jalal and DABS head Eng. Amanullah Ghalib signed the agreement.

Under the agreement, a joint committee of DABS and AGO officials has been established, with a mandate to identify power stealers across the country.

It said the committee had been tasked to refer power thieves and those damaging facilities to AGO for prosecution.

AGO would investigate the cases and share results with DABS and the people of Afghanistan. The agreement is based on Articles 14, 701 and 710 of the Criminal Code.
