Jalalabad explosion leaves 1 dead, 14 wounded

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): One individual was killed and 14 others were wounded as a result of a bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province on Thursday morning, officials said.

Police spokesman Faridullah told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred in the 2nd police district near the Lutfullah Baba oil station at around 9:15am.

He said the bomb targeted the commander of uprising forces for Nazian district but he was not in the vehicle that came under attack. He said one individual was killed and 14 others were wounded in the blast.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, confirmed the incident and said a policeman and 13 civilians were among the wounded.

There was no immediate claimed of responsibility for the blast.
