Afghan agro products go on display in Mumbai

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A two-day exhibition of Afghan products aimed at expanding Kabul-Delhi trade links began in the Indian city of Mumbai on Friday.

Organised with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAIDinfo-icon), the show is an initiative of the Ministry of Agricultureinfo-icon, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL).

MAIL spokesman Akbar Rustami told Pajhwok Afghan News high-ranking government officials were attending the event, showcasing Afghanistaninfo-icon’s agricultural products.

Dried and fresh fruits, saffron, medicinal plants and other products will be on display for two days at 57 stalls, according to the the ministry spokesman.

Rustami said more than 800 traders, including Indian firms, had been registered so far for participation in the exhibition. They are expected to visit the stalls.

The show would help find a good market for Afghanistan’s agricultural products and strengthen Kabul-Delhi trade relations, ths official hoped.
