5 pro-govt militiamen killed in Jawzjan, Samangan

SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Three pro-government uprising members, who previously fought for Daesh, have killed six colleagues and injured two others in northwestern Jawzjan province.

Mainullah, Qush Tapa district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Guzar village late on Tuesday night.

He said Javed, Mohammad and Asif, who had previously been members of Daesh group, surrendered to the security forces and went to Iran. On their return. They joined the uprising group.

The governor said the militants shot dead six uprising members, including the check-post commander Yaseen and took away all weapons, ammunition and handed them over to Talibaninfo-icon.

He did not provide information about how many Daesh members had joined the public uprising group after joining the peace process.

Mohammad (not a real name), a resident of the village, told Pajhwok three Daesh members had joined the uprising force but they were not trustworthy.

He asked the government to take concrete steps to punish the black sheep in ranks of the uprising force.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that the fighters had killed six security personnel and injured three others manning a check-post.

He said the fighters had seized eight weapons, two walkie-talkies and two motorcycles.

In Samangan, two uprising members were killed and three others wounded. Three Taliban insurgents were also killed as a result of a clash in Do Aab district on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Munir Rahimi said the militants attacked a security check-post and three uprising forces and three militants were killed.

A resident of the area, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that one pro-government fighter was killed and three others were wounded when uprising forces commander Mohammad’s vehicle struck a roadside bomb
