KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): More than 230,000 people, including 12,000 men and 70,000 womeninfo-icon have so far registered as voters since the registration process’ launch, an official said on Thursday.

Hawa Alam Nuristani, head of the Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon), told reporters here that 2,932 Kuchiinfo-icon tribesmen had also registered as voters in the ongoing process.

About the voter registration process in Ghazni province, she said over 41,000 people had registered in Ghazni as voters in which 28,100 were men and over 12,680 were women. Over 200 Kochis have also registered to vote in Ghazni.

She said the voter registration process would end on June 29 but it would be extended in Ghazni for one week.
