Faryab accident leaves 4 dead, 8 injured

MIAMANA (Pajhwok): Womeninfo-icon and children were among four people died and another eight were injured when a vehicle fell hundreds of meters deep from Chahartoot pass in northwestern Faryab province on Saturday.

Mirwais Sayeedzoi, the Pashtunkot district administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News a passenger vehicle traveling from Maimana city, the provincial capital, to Pashtunkot, fell into a deep ravine at around 2:30 this afternoon.

He said four people, including two women and as many children were killed and eight others including women and children were wounded in the incident. The injured had been shifted to the provincial hospital.

A relative of the victims said the vehicle fell from a 200 meters height and it driver managed to escape the area.

Dr. Mohammad Haroon, an official at the Civil Healthinfo-icon Hospital, told Pajhwok they had received three dead bodies, including two children and eight injured people, including three children and four women.
