KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): One prosecutor with the Anti-Corruption Criminal Justice Center (ACJC) was killed and another was wounded in an armed attack in Kamapni area of capital Kabul on Saturday, an official said.

Attorney General Office (AGO) spokesman Jamshid Rasouli told Pajhwok Afghan News that the two prosecutors of the Anti-Corruption Criminal Justice Center (ACJC) came under attack on their way to office in Kamapni area at around 7am this morning.

He identified the slain prosecutor as Abdul Qadir and his injured colleague as Karimullah who had been taken to hospital.

“Attacks on prosecutors are attacks on justice”, he said, adding the victims were neutral people who were killed in line of duty.

Kabul police spokesman Firdous Faramarz said that the attack on was carried out by unknown individuals and an investigation in this regard was underway.

Abdul Sammad Samim, a Facebook user wrote, said another prosecutor named Mirwais Wardak was killed in the same area last Thursday.

He said Mirwais Wardak was a resident of Ganda Qul area of Jaghatu district of Maidan Wardak province.

“Dozens of people from Maidan Wardak province alone have been killed mysteriously in recent past while the government has turned deaf and mute, doing nothing to investigate these cases,” he said.

The Kabul police and the AGO said they were unaware of the killing of Mirwais Wardak.
