5 civilians killed in overnight Maidan Wardak raid

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Five civilians have been killed during security forces night raid in the Chak district of central Maidan Wardak province, a resident of locality claimed on Saturday.

But Governor Spokesman Mohibullah Sharifzai said six militants have been killed in the overnight raid.

Hayatullah Haleem, the resident of locality, said security forces conducted the raid on Friday night in the Gardan Valley village.

He said security forces expelled five people from their homes in Mohmado village and bombarded their homes. Five civilians were injured in the airstrike, he added.

But according to Sharifzai based on intelligence information militants were killed in the overnight raid. He said a vehicle and some motorcycles were also destroyed in the raid.

Talibaninfo-icon spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on his twitter page wrote that security forces killed five civilians and arrested two others in the overnight raid.
