7 policemen, 3 children killed in roadside blasts in Farah

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Seven policemen and three school students have been killed in two separate landmine blasts in western Farah province, an official said Saturday.

Deputy police Chief Wahid Subat told Pajhwok Afghan News that seven policemen were killed in roadside bomb blast in Gajgeen village of Pushtrod district on Friday evening.

He said the incident took place when a Humvee tank struck a roadside bomb. Talibaninfo-icon claimed responsibility for the landmine blast.

Elsewhere, three school children were killed in a roadside bomb explosion in Qaisar village of Purchaman district today (Saturday) morning, said Farid Ahmad, a resident of the area.

He added one of the slain child was in second class and two others third. Security officials said nothing in this regard.
