2 killed, 3 injured in Nangarhar roadside bombing

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Two people were killed and three others injured when a roadside bomb tore through a border police vehicle in the capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday.

Idrees Momand, border police commander in the eastern zone, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast on a border police pick-up vehicle took place in Jalalabad City at around 10:10am. He said two border policemen were wounded in the attack.

An official at the zonal hospital, who declined to be named, confirmed receiving two dead bodies and three injured people including a military man at the hospital.

Shahabuddin Shahab, an eyewitness, said the bomb had been placed in a garbage heap and was detonated as the police vehicle arrived.

A rickshaw was also damaged in the blast and two of its passengers were injured. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
