13 provinces get 61 projects worth 312m afs

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) on Sunday signed contracts to implement 61 projects worth 312 million afghanis in 13 provinces of the country.

The contracts were signed between rural rehabilitation and development minister Mujib Rahman Karimi, and representatives of provincial council of the concerned provinces here today.

Karimi said the projects included construction of streams, roads, bridges, culverts, water canals, retaining walls and others.

He said the schemes would be implemented in Baghlan, Badghis, Logar, Herat, Kabul, Kandahar, Khost, Paktia, Parwan, Maidan Wardak, Zabul and Nuristan provinces.

These projects would cost a total of 312 million afghanis and benefit more than 147,000 people once implemented, he said.

Karimi added 31 of these projects would be financed from national budget and 29 others were sponsored by Australia and one project by India.
