Ex-defence minister son accused of raping US model

Ex-defence minister son accused of raping US model

Jul 21, 2019 - 12:48

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): An American model has filed a lawsuit against the son of ex-defence minister Abdul Rahim Wardak for stalking and raping her, a media report said on Sunday.

Sarah Goolden, 29, a New York model, accused Hamed Wardak, 43, of attacking her in July 2018, according to The New York Post.

The actress agreed to date the Afghan man after a meeting through a friend when she studied in DC, Daily Mail reported. Goolden claimed Wardak attacked her but later proposed to her

In a lawsuit, she alleged the wealthy Afghan sexually assaulted her after she rejected his advances during a trip to Miami.

After an apology from Wardak, the couple reportefly went out with friends. Wardak then proposed in front of friends that night, the model said.

Goolden added she accepted out of fear he would react violently and wanted to end the relationship in private.

Wardak then held her down and sexually abused her, according to the lawsuit. 'It’s a romantic night… You should want to be alone with your fiance,' Wardak allegedly told her.

The actress left two days later, but her lover allegedly threatened her and said he would 'ruin' her life and make her look like a con-artist.

In one of the two cases filed against Goolden by him, Wardak accused her of seeking to make money from the relationship. He also demanded the return of $20,000 he claims to have paid for treatment for model’s ailing dog.

For her part, the model claims since the alleged attack Wardak has stalked her for a year. The alleged rapost was detained twice in Manhattan for violating an order of protection Goolden obtained against him.

Wardak’s lawyer Alexis Fields said Goolden's claims were false and she was attempting to manipulate the current political and anti-immigrant climate to her tactical advantage.
