PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): At least two Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel have been killed and as many wounded as a result of a foreign forces’ airstrike in central Logar province, an official said on Sunday.

Police spokesman Shahpur Ahmadzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that foreign forces raided an ALP check-post in the Omarabad area of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, late on Saturday night.

He said two ALP men were killed and as many wounded and some of their vehicles and weapons destroyed in the airstrike.

The incident happened due to lack of coordination between foreign and Afghan forces, he said.

Ismatullah, a resident of the area, told Pajhwok the ALP check-post was destroyed in the overnight airstrike.

He claimed seeing the bodies of four ALP personnel being taken to the police headquarters after the incident. The foreign forces have not yet commented in this regard.
