Fuel prices decreased by 6pc in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The prices of fuel have declined by more the six percent while the rate of Kazakhstani flour slightly increased during the outgoing week in capital Kabul, market sources said Saturday.

Mohammad Akram, a liquefied gas seller in Taimani area of Kabul city, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of a kilogram of the commodity was declined from 55 Afghanis to 50 Afghanis this week.

Abdul Hadi, a worker at Wazirabad Fuel Station in Kabul said the price of a liter of petrol was edged down from 52afs to 50afs and the same quantity of diesel from 49afs to 47afs.

In food items, the price of only Kazakhstani flour slightly increased.

 Mohammad Samim, a wholesaler in Kabul’s Mandavi Market, said that the price of 49 kilograms of Kazakhstani flour was increased from 1,450afs to 1,470afs.

However, he said that a tin of 16 liters of Khurshid ghee cost 1,080afs, 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,200afs, 49kg of Pakistani sugar 2,000afs, one-kg of Indonesian green tea for 300afs and the same amount of black African tea for 320afs, the same rates of last week’s.

Ahmad Mustafa, who owns a grocery store in Taimani area of Kabul, sold a 50-kg sack of Kazakhstani flour for 1,520afs, a 49-kg bag of sugar for 2,100afs, 24-kg of Pakistani rice 2,500afs a 16-litre tin of ghee for 1,150afs, one-kg of Indonesian green tea for 320afs and the same amount of black African tea for 360afs—higher than wholesale rates.

Haji Fawad Ahmad Salehzada, a jeweler in Timor Shahee area of Kabul, said that the price of one gram of Arabian was 2,900afs and the same quantity of Russian variety 2,400afs, the same rates of last week’s.

Haji Mir Hussian Sadaqat, a moneychanger at the Money Exchange Service in Sara-i-Shahzada, said one US dollar was accounted for 79.50afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 503afs against last week’s 80afs and 505afs.
