JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Six people were injured as the deputy head of Provincial Council (PC) in eastern Laghman province survived a roadside blast on Saturday.

Governor Spokesman Asadullah Dawlatzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast targeting Haji Abdul Azizi’s vehicle took place at around 10:00 am in Mehtarlam, the provincial capital.

He said the blast took place when Haji Abdul Aziz was on his way in the areas.

He said the Provincial Council deputy head survived the blast, but his one bodyguard and five civilians were injured.

No group claimed responsibility for the blast.
