New ambassador to woo Qatari investors

New ambassador to woo Qatari investors

Jul 27, 2019 - 11:50

DOHA (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon’s new Ambassador to Qatar Abdul Hakim Dalili says he will encourage Qatari entrepreneurs to invest in Afghanistan, to boost bilateral relations and pave the way for direct flights between the two countries.

During an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, he said he had arrived in Doha with a grand plan whose implementation would be an achievement for the country in line with wishes of the people.

Dalili was appointed as Afghanistan’s top diplomat in Qatar and embarked upon his assignment last week.

Beside long experience in the field of diplomacy, Dalili spent the past two decades in Qatar and helped establish a close relationship with the Gulf country,

He said he would try to expand relations between Afghan and Qatari investors, which would help increase Kabulinfo-icon-Doha trade.

He added food items, fruits, vegetable and minerals were some of the products that were in high demand in Qatar. Afghanistan could export them to the Gulf nation.

Dalili said Afghanistan enjoyed cordial ties with Qatar and he would strive to further cement the links for more proximity in political, economic and diplomatic areas.

He said Afghans with Pakistani passports were being provided with Afghan passports and the process was underway.

Latif Sahak, an Afghan living in Qatar, said due to the absence of direct flights between the two countries passengers should either go to Kuwait or the UAE before flying to Kabul.

Abdul Hadi, another Afghan based in Doha, said he knew Dalili and hoped the envoy would address their problems.
