KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Prominent writer, journalist and political expert Mohammad Hassan Olasmal has passed away in a Kabul hospital after a prolonged ailment.

Actual resident of Kama district of eastern Nangarhar province, Olasmal during his migrationinfo-icon period published “Mujahid Olas” journal and recently he was running a news outlet “Afghan” in Kabul.

Olasmal, a renowned Pashtu writer and journalist, had recently appeared on television screens as a political affairs expert. He also took part in political debates aired on radios.

Some time back, Olasmal traveled to Norway for treatment.

Writer and poet Ajmal Atak Yousafzai on Friday wrote on Facebook page that Mohammad Hassan Olasmal breathed his last before noon today.

He called the passing away of Olasmal a huge loss to the country’s political, literature and journalism fields. He said the vacuum created with the death of Olasmal would take time to be filled.

Funeral prayers for the late writer will be offered at Eid Gah mosqueinfo-icon in Kabul at 10am on Saturday.

A second funeral would be offered for him at his native village in Kama district of Nangarhar, where he would be buried at his ancestral graveyard.
