Afghan disabled cricket team beats Bangladesh in England

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghanistaninfo-icon disabled cricket team defeated Bangladesh in the five-nation disability Twenty20 Worldinfo-icon Series match in England.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh disables decided to bat first and set the Afghans 139 runs target in the 20 overs.

Afghan bowlers Tafil and Ajmal clinched three wickets each while Zubair took two and Sherin Aghan one.

In response, the Afghan disabled squad achieved the targets in the 16th over after losing two wickets and won the match by eight wickets. Mohammad Ashraf scored 81 unbeaten runs, Jamil 38 and Mohammadullah contributed 16.

Mohammad Ashraf was declared the man of the match.

Afghanistan will take on Pakistaninfo-icon in their second match on Tuesday.

Organized by England and Wales Cricket Board, the five-nation World Series that commenced on August 5 will continue until August 13.

Along with the host country England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan are featuring in the series.

On August 15, the top performers from the four visiting sides will form a Rest of the World, which will take on England in a one-off T20 match at New Road, Worcestershire.
