PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Youth from Afghanistaninfo-icon and Pakistaninfo-icon have pledged to work together for a better future for their countries.

The pledge came during an Afghanistan-Pakistan youth summit in Islamabad on Friday. A 13 member Afghan delegation and young representatives of the High Peace Councilinfo-icon attended the summit.

Ex-lawmaker Khalid Pashtoon, currently heading an Afghan delegation to Pakistan, said he was delighted to see the youth of Pakistan and Afghanistan together under one roof.

“Our countries were very close a few decades ago; then bad things happened and distance between us two neighbors increased. We miss the old days when we used to be like twin brothers.”

Once peace returned to Afghanistan in the context of Doha talks, the two nations would once again get closer, he hoped.
