PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans establishing a healthcare city in Khyber district near the Afghan border.

A major medical tourism initiative for the Afghans, the healthcare city will be set up at the Zero Point on Durand Lineinfo-icon in Torkham.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthinfo-icon Minister Hisham Inamullah made the announcement while inaugurating the Pak-Afghan Healthcare Referral Facility in Torkham.

“In the proposed city being set up under the public-private partnership, all big healthcare providers will have their outlets under one roof,” the minister added.

The healthcare city will provide emergency services to Afghan nationals and tourists on the border, as well as Pakistani citizens.

“We have already formulated medical tourism policy in KP to facilitate Afghan patients,” the minister said.
