Blowing up power pylons not to help Taliban: Abdullah

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah addressing his last Cabinet meeting on Monday that blowing up power pylons would not help the Talibaninfo-icon with regard to the peace process.

The CEO, who is contesting this month’s presidential election, said the Taliban deprived 11 provinces of electricity by blowing up power pylons in Baghlan province. “Taliban’s this act will not help the peace effort,” he added.

Earlier, Da Afghanistaninfo-icon Breshna Shirkat (DABS) said 11 provinces plunged into darkness after Taliban militants destroyed power pylons importing electricity from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Abdullah also asked government officials to stay neutral in elections and provide services to people.

He also stressed neutrality of security institutions during polls and asked security bosses to ensure neutrality of their institutions.
