22 killed, 38 wounded in Kabul suicide blast

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Sixteen civilians and six military personnel were killed and another 38 civilians wounded in a suicide bombing near the Ministry of Defense in Kabul on Tuesday. The blast took place at the entrance to a security post gate near the Ahmad Shah Masood Square.

An eyewitness told Pajhwok Afghan News that the blast happened at the entrance to the Ministry of Defence.

Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), told Pajhwok the suicide bomber exploded his explosives laden bike near Ahmad Shah Masood Square in limits of the 9th police district of Kabul City at around 1:00pm.

Rahimi said 22 people, including six military personnel, were killed and another 38 civilians wounded in the suicide bombing. He said women and children were among the dead and wounded.

On the other hand, the Talibaninfo-icon claimed responsibility for the suicide attack and the group spokesman ZabihullahMujahid said dozens security forces had been killed and wounded in the attack.
