US-Taliban peace talks likely to resume: MoF

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoF) on Wednesday said peace negotiations between the Talibaninfo-icon and the US could possibly resume.

MoF spokesman Sibghatullah Ahmadi was speaking at a press conference in Kabul two weeks after US President Donald Trump called off peace talks with Taliban.

Ahmadi said the peace talks might be restarted between Taliban and US officials, but he did not provide further details in this regard.

About Taliban delegation’s tours to some regional countries, the MoF spokesman said the Afghan government supported every effort that could pave the way for direct talks between the government and the Taliban.
