KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): At least 100 people have been killed and around 300 others wounded as a massive protest in Iraq entered a fifth day.

The protesters say they are staging the demonstration against unemployment, poor public services and corruption in the country, according to BBC.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia and the United Nations have called for an end to the “senseless loss of life”.

On Saturday, security forces broke up a mass rally east of Baghdad. Five people died in the latest clashes in the capital. Security forces once again used live rounds and tear gas.

At least 99 people have been killed and nearly 4,000 wounded since the protests began in Baghdad on Tuesday before spreading to the south, the Iraqi parliament's human rights commission says.

Prime Minister Adel Mahdi vowed to address the protestors’ concerns.
