KANADAHAR (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) in southern Kandahar province says it has so far investigated 212 election related complaints.

Ashana Gul Bandawal told a press conference here that  most of the complaints registered with them were about Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon) workers indiscipline, technical issues and other problems, but no direct complaint had been registered regarding direct fraud or rigging in polls.

He said these complaints were investigated in 15 days impartially. According to Bandawal, 88 complaints lacked proper evidence and tens of complaints were related to technical problems in biometric devices or absence of names from voter lists.

He said based on 15 complaints, votes of 25 polling stations had been quarantined, which would be recounted.

Bandawal said that according to the IEC decision only biometric votes would be considered as legitimate votes.
