Pakistan seeks early return of Afghan refugees

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon has urged international community to discharge its responsibility for the early repatriation of Afghan refugees to their homeland.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Shehryar Afridi issued the call on Wednesday when inaugurated a school for refugees in Islamabad.

Speaking to journalists, he said the new generation of Afghan would be provided with modern educationinfo-icon besides extra-curricular activities.

“Pakistan has been hosting millions of Afghan refugees and sharing their sorrows over the last four decades,” the minister said.

Afridi called for the global fraternity to play its due role in the early and dignified repatriation of refugees to their motherland.

Afridi said Prime Minister Imran Khan had a lot of respect for the Afghan nation and his government was taking all possible steps to ensure the welfare of Afghan refugees.

“They are our brothers and Islam also teaches us the lesson of brotherhood and humanity,” the minister remarked.
